Another photo of the moon rising at Clingman’s dome. I’m posting this one because I like the smooth, unbroken gradation of the colors.

Double Photo Tuesday: Tigress

Decided to post two images today, since these go so well together and “tell a story” (such as it is). The lovely creature featured here is Ryo, one of my favorite felines.

These images were shot in March 2009 with a Nikon D90.

The Day After

Hey, gang. I decided to post a few pictures of the flood damage in and around Ashland City and Joelton, since I’ve noticed a lack of such footage online and on TV. The waters have (thankfully) begun to recede, but what’s left behind as far as damage and standing water is pretty incredible. Keep in mind that most of the drier sites seen in these images were underwater just 24 hours ago, so God’s been very good to us out this way.

I feel very blessed today, because my family members are all safe and accounted for—there are many others who cannot say this, and my heart and prayers go out to them. Please remember Nashville and its outlying areas in prayer in the coming days. We certainly need it.

The lid of a copper-colored tiki lantern. Every time I look at this image, I’m reminded of a boat on the sea; it’s the angle, I guess. Image shot in March 2009.
